The "Midnight in Sibiu" illustration pictures one of my favorite places in Romania, one delightful city established in the heart of charming Transylvania.
Sibiu had an intense Saxon (German) influence, and it is called "Hermannstadt" in German. The houses have long rooftops with distinctively shaped windows so that when you look from a distance, they seem to have eyes.
"The City with Eyes" has a magic of its own. A cozy atmosphere with a medieval touch transfers you to a different era, allowing you to get lost in Transylvania's dreamy lands.
