I created the "Midnight in Berlin" illustration a few years ago, when I moved to Germany.
Berlin is a city that breathes history, art, and culture. It portrays the Oberbaum Bridge that crosses the Spree river in East Berlin, the Cathedral, the houses covered in graffiti, and the iconic yellow trains of the U-Bahn.
In the back, the Berlin Wall, the concrete barrier that physically and ideologically divided Berlin from 1961 to 1989, is now back to life in the colorful East Side Gallery. The paintings made by artists worldwide are a remembrance of a divided history that is not yet ready to be forgotten.
